Altar Servers
Discover (Liturgical) Serve
Parish and School young boys from 10 years of age through high school who reverently assist the celebrant and deacon at the altar during Masses, funerals, weddings, school and other liturgies. Training required.
To be an altar server is a special honor and great privilege in the Catholic Church. If you would like to serve the LORD as an altar server, you are welcome to join the SEAS Altar Server team.
Any parish boy who has received First Holy Communion, is of good faith, and at least 10 years old is welcome to become and Altar Server. All server candidates will attend a training session to learn their tasks in assisting the priest at Mass.
Parents must be willing to undertake an active role in supporting their child in this ministry by ensuring that their altar server arrives to their assigned Mass on time and properly dressed in black pants, black socks, and black shoes.
In addition, Altar Server candidates must:
- Be an active member of the parish community or school
- Believe in the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church
- Complete the required diocesan Safe Environment training
- Know how to make the Sign of the Cross
- Know how to receive Holy Communion in the proper manner
Cualquier feligrés que haya recibido la Primera Comunión, es de buena fe, y al menos 10 años de edad es bienvenido a convertirse en un Altar Server.Todos los candidatos del servidor asistirán a una sesión de capacitación para aprender sus tareas de ayudar al sacerdote en la misa.
Los padres deben estar dispuestos a asumir un papel activo en el apoyo a su hijo en este ministerio asegurándose de que su servidor de altar llegue a su misa asignada a tiempo y debidamente vestidos con pantalones negros, calcetines negros y zapatos negros.
