The Stapletons are a husband and wife duo based in Pittsburgh, PA, who play the harp and guitar.
They travel with their six kids in a bright blue 40-foot school bus, creating beautiful music. Kate Stapleton is also a birth mother who placed her daughter for adoption 22 years ago, which is how she ended up playing the harp in the first place.
For the past year, The Stapletons have been working on creating a long-form piece about their adoption story.
The film will be a combination of a music documentary, an adoption story, a travelogue, and an exploration of how beauty often emerges when least expected.
This fall, The Stapletons will drive their bus across America from Pittsburgh to California to attend the wedding of Kate's daughter, Brigid, who was raised there. Along the way, they hope to play concerts as a fundraiser for their documentary movie project.
