Preparation for the Sacraments of
First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion ________________
To be considered a candidate for celebrating the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion a child must be:
Baptized in the Catholic tradition…AND
Having reached the age of discretion, that is, the 7th year of age…AND
Have at least one active Catholic adult willing to support their faith journey...AND
Has completed a full year (2009/2010) of formal foundational catechesis (attending weekly Religious Education Classes or attending a Catholic School)…AND
Currently enrolled and attending formal catechesis for the year of 2010/2011. Preparation includes formal instruction during regular class time and a 3 hour Parent/child retreat per sacrament received…AND
Attending Sunday Mass on a regular basis…AND
A Copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate needs to be received and attached to the registration form…AND
If your child did not attend Religious Education Classes/Catholic School at SEAS for the year of 2009/2010, you will need to attach proof from the Church where your child attended…AND
A $40 book/materials fee covers both sacraments
